Meet Shadi Saberi, CTO of iSono Health, pt. 1

Sociologist and Marketer at Arionkoder with a focus on creating compelling and informative content that helps our clients make great decisions and accomplish their business goals.

Meet Shadi Saberi, CTO of iSono Health — one of the winners of our Arionkoder Reshape Health Grants!

iSono Health’s mission is to prevent breast cancer deaths, particularly those caused by late or missed diagnoses. To help make that a reality, they’ve developed the world’s first AI-driven, portable, and automated 3D breast ultrasound scanner for breast cancer detection. Their use of AI helps process images and reduce dependency on operators, making early detection more accessible to women around the world.

We’re thrilled to support them through our grant, especially in two key areas:

  • Enhancing the usability and trustworthiness of their AI model outputs, so users can easily interpret and act on the results.
  • Fine-tuning their lesion detection deep learning model to improve accuracy.

We’re honored to be part of this incredible journey. Stay tuned for updates as we continue supporting iSono Health’s groundbreaking work!

I’m Shadi Saberi, I’m co-founder and CTO of iSono Health. I started iSono Health because of a personal experience of losing a loved one to breast cancer, and our mission is to make sure no woman ever dies from breast cancer through early detection. So that is how we think we can increase access.

So I think the biggest issue is really that operator dependency, which is a big issue in breast ultrasound. The skill of that sonographer that does the breast ultrasound completely defines the course of diagnostic. If they are not able to get good images, if they can if they miss an area, then the radiologist that further is looking at the images cannot diagnose correctly.

So we’re trying to completely take that out of the operator dependency, out of the question, make it very repeatable, consistent quality, and also do a whole breast, so that we make sure that we covered everything. So the radiologist will be confident that what they’re reading is the whole breast and also workflow.

I’m really happy that we have this opportunity to invest in this part and for the grants that help us to achieve our goals.
